Whether you are celebrating the completion of your first degree or the result of further study, congratulations on your success. You can start preparations for graduation by exploring the topics below.

Completing a qualification at EIT is a significant academic achievement and we want to make sure you can celebrate your success.

Graduation is different depending on which pathway you take. Select either the Higher Education or VET tab below for more information about undergraduate, postgraduate, and vocational education.

Once you have successfully graduated, you will become a part EIT’s alumni community. We are proud to have alumni from 146 countries across the world.

Graduation Ceremonies
EIT graduation ceremonies will be held on the dates below in 2024. These graduations are to celebrate all students graduating from 1st September 2023 to 31 August 2024.

Perth & Online: Friday 1st November 2024
Melbourne: Friday 22nd November 2024
Johannesburg & Online: Friday 6th December 2024

If you are eligible to graduate, please mark your chosen date in your diary. Formal invitations will be sent to eligible graduates on 16th September 2024.

Graduation information will be sent to all eligible students at time of graduation through official communication. Here’s what you need to do to make sure you are eligible to graduate:

  1. Pay outstanding fees and fines
    Your graduation may be delayed if you have any outstanding fees or fines. Let your Learning Support Officer know once you have made any outstanding payments.
  2. Confirm all units/modules are successfully completed
    In your final study period, make sure your course requirements are met and necessary paperwork complete before the relevant deadlines.
  3. Complete the graduation survey
    At the conclusion of your studies, you will be sent a graduation survey to be completed before graduation can be finalized.

Testamur Information

Will I receive a physical version of my testamur?
No, all testamurs (and official records of results) will be sent through eQuals. Students can print their own, or request for EIT to print at an additional cost.

How can I order a replacement testamur?
If your original testamur is lost, destroyed, stolen or damaged, you can order a replacement. You will need to complete and submit a relevant form and fees will apply. Please contact your Higher Education Support (hesupport@eit.edu.au) for more information.

How can my employer verify my EIT testamur?
Once documents are received, students can share their documents with current or future employers.

How long will it take to receive my graduation pack after graduation?
You will receive your official graduation documents through eQuals, 12-14 weeks after graduating.

If you are unable to graduate for any reason, you are able to transfer to another intake. Conditions apply for different courses. Please contact your Learning Support Officer for more information.

Graduation Frequently Asked Questions

What is the eligibility criteria to graduate?

Students have, or will have, completed all course requirements, including workshop and industrial/professional experience units (if applicable) by 31st August 2024. Students have or will have no outstanding tuition fees by 31st August 2024.

What if I graduate after 31st August 2024?
You will be invited to attend next years’ graduation ceremony in 2025.

When will I receive the invitation?
Formal invitations with links to purchase tickets, will be sent via email on the 12th September 2024. Only eligible graduates will receive a formal invitation.

Will there be a cost to attend?
Yes, there will be a cost for graduates and their guests to attend in-person. Tickets will cover the cost of catering and graduation gown hire. Ticket cost and inclusions will be detailed in your formal invitation.

Please note: Online graduation is free.

Can I invite family and friends?
Yes! Graduates can invite up to 2 guests to attend the in-person events.
Please note: the age restriction for tickets will be 18+ years. Families with small children will be able to attend the online live stream from the comfort of their own home.

Additional tickets may be released in October; however, this will be dependent on number of initial RSVPs and venue capacities.

I can’t attend in person, what are my options?
If you cannot attend in person, you can register to graduate online. The Perth & Johannesburg Graduation will be streamed live and will include online graduates. All registered online graduates will be acknowledged during the live stream. A recording of the graduation will also be saved to view at a time that suits you.

Can I attend any event?
Yes, you can choose to attend either the Perth, Melbourne or Johannesburg event. A visa may be required for international travel.

Will EIT help with my visa and travel arrangements?
No, graduates must make their own arrangements for visas and travel.

Will I receive my graduation documents at the event?
No, you will not receive your formal graduation documents (i.e. certificate and record of results) at the graduation ceremony, these will be sent to you prior to the ceremony. Each in-person graduate will receive a special EIT graduation sash and congratulations letter at the ceremony.

What if I do not receive an invitation?
If you believe you are eligible to graduate, but you do not receive an invitation on 16th September, please contact graduation@eit.edu.au

Just because you’ve graduated doesn’t mean your EIT journey is over. There are plenty of opportunities for you to continue learning at EIT:

Occupational categories are based on your educational qualifications. Engineers Australia recognizes three occupational categories within the engineering team in Australia:
