Christabel has 14 years of Academia (Multi-skilled) experienced at the tertiary level with 5 Years of Industrial experience. She is very familiar with online LMS platforms such as Moodle, Blackboard, Collaborate, and Google Classroom.
Clients recognize and trust Christabel Phiri to do business with the highest degree of honesty. She is Harness of advanced knowledge in technical training and Design and stays abreast of rapid changes in technology, markets, and industry trends.
Before relocating to South Africa, she spent three years as a mechanical engineering technician in Zambia’s copper mines.
Christabel moved to South Africa in 2007 and began working as a lecturer in designing and draughting, training students on designing of Multi-disciplinary drawing office practice, ranging from building design, structural steel detailing, electrical draughting and installations, mechanical draughting using Revit, AUTO Cad, Solid works, inventor for more than 10 years.
From 2012 to 2013, she worked as a fire sprinkler designer for Crossfire Management, designing fire protection equipment (hose reels, fire boosters, and pump house design), selling projects, sprinkler systems, and lighting systems to builders, developers, and small business owners, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
From 2014 to 2023 she worked as a lecturer at African premier of Draughting teaching Multi-disciplinary drawing office practice using different designing softwares.
In October 2023, she began working at EIT as a mechanical engineering instructor, providing tutorials across all Mechanical Engineering units.

Fields of Research: | Christabel’s research field has been on the impact of heat distribution on mechanical performance of thick stainless-steel welds by development of welding procedures to study the welded behavior of thick 3CR12-to-3CR12 welded joints while varying the weld bead heat input (current, voltage, inter-pass temperature and weld speed). |
Research Interest: | Christabel’s research interest both professional and academic, is a strong testament to my patience and ability to solving real-time problems in the Engineering sector. Her future research focuses mainly on advanced manufacturing processes, Air flow in HVAC Systems, Energy balance in Kilns and heat exchangers etc. |
