The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is excited to announce its participation in Electra Mining 2024, one of Africa’s largest and most prestigious mining and industrial expos.
Taking place from 2 September 2024 to 6 September 2024, EIT will be showcasing its commitment to engineering excellence with a series of dynamic and engaging activities and much more. Electra Mining 2024 is to be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre and will be attended by some of the largest mining and engineering firms in the world.
The event will showcase the latest technologies and presentations from industry trailblazers. It will also offer the opportunity to connect with hundreds of exhibitors across mining, electrical, automation, manufacturing, power, and transport sectors—all in one venue.
Electra Mining has initiated themed days throughout the week and EIT looks forward to participating in this approach to the event.
During the event EIT will be involved in a number of ways. For example, our innovative course offerings will showcase our commitment to sustainability.
On another day of the event, we plan to focus on focus on new technologies and advanced engineering solutions, including a live demonstration of cutting-edge techniques, making your life as an engineer, a little easier.
There will also be time dedicated to safety, with practical with practical tips and safety-focused competitions. Additionally, we will celebrate diversity and cultural heritage with engaging activities that reflect our global perspective and community spirit.
Attendees can look forward to engaging with our team and learning about advancements in renewable energy, electrical, mechanical, industrial automation, civil and structural engineering, as well as safety practices, and the latest in technological innovation.
On day two of the expo, EIT will host a highly anticipated seminar led by Christabel Phiri, one of EIT’s Mechanical Engineering Lecturers.
Her presentation, titled “Technology’s Role in Skill Development,” will explore how advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, are being utilized to enhance skill development and foster continuous learning in engineering.
Attendees can look forward to:
• Insightful discussions on technology’s impact on skill enhancement
• Information on EIT’s diverse engineering courses
• Interactive experiences and giveaways that reflect our commitment to innovation and sustainability
